Stacking the Shelves (8/3/13)

>>GIVEAWAY ALERT<<
I'm giving away a signed ARC of Life After Theft
by Aprilynne Pike - enter to win it here!

Time for another Stacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga's Reviews, where I share the books that I've added to my shelves this week (and last week as well, actually).

EPIC LIBRARIAN HAUL:

Way too many books to list here, but the ones I was immediately excited about were:
  • Love In the Time of Global Warming by Francesca Lia Block - Tiny little thing, and the cover and title are just too interesting not to give it a try.
  • Belle Epoque by Elizabeth Ross - Originally dismissed this as just another historical romance, but upon reading the summary I discovered its premise is exactly what I'm super-excited about with Kiera Cass's upcoming series! Seriously looking forward to this one now.
  • The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani - I thought this was a graphic novel and never gave it a second look. Now that I actually have the book, it sounds awesome - can't wait to read it!
  • Antigoddess by Kendare Blake - I've been told I must read it, and therefore I will give it a try.
  • Relic: The Books of Eva by Heather Terrell - Sounds interesting - I'm game.
  • The Coldest Girl In Coldtown by Holly Black - I hated her fairy series (only read Book 1) but loved her Curseworkers series, so I'm unsure if I'll like this one or not. Will definitely give it a try, though!
  • Sylo by D.J. MacHale - Some people love it, some people hate it. I guess I'll give it a try and see for myself.
  • The 100 by Kass Morgan - Apparently there's going to be a television show? I wasn't really attracted to this one, but Epic Librarian recommended it and everyone is talking about it so I've added it to the TBR pile.

OTHERS:
The Bride Wore Black LeatherNot a Drop to Drink
The Program (The Program, #1)Frozen (Heart of Dread, #1)
  • The Bride Wore Black Leather by Simon R. Green (MMP - Purchased New) - The last Nightside book for sale at the moment! My collection is caught up, but I'll take my time polishing them off as they are my mindless reads.
  • Not A Drop To Drink by Mindy McGinnis (ARC - Gift) - Thank you to Flannery @ The Readventurer for sending this my way! I am in the need of this type of read right now.
  • The Program by Suzanne Young (HBK, signed - Gift) - Major thanks to my local bookish gal Ashley @ yAdult Review! And she brought it for me the night the author was signing, so I got it signed and personalized! While waiting to get it signed, best-selling author Aprilynne Pike told me to read it without delay, so its time shall come very soon (or people will start coming after me).
  • Frozen by Melissa de la Cruz & Michael Johnston (ARC - Traded) - My #1 must-have this summer and someone finally traded with me! (Seriously, I tried about half a dozen people before I finally found Rachael of Moosubi Reviews!.) Top of my To-Read pile!
So what books did you add to your shelves this week?

  1. Great haul! I really want to read the Program soon. Although I'm a little nervous to read it, because I've read a few bad reviews on it :(. I hope you like it though :D

  4. You got some great books! THE 100 was okay, unfortunately did not live up to the hype for me. SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND EVIL was okay as well, very long though. And I'm excited for COLDEST GIRL IN COLD TOWN. I have a copy that I can't wait to get to, same with FROZEN. I can't wait to read DOON! Gah, you have such an amazing haul Skye!
